About Ian Gibson
I am a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, Marshall/Truman Scholar, and experienced COO and Co-Founder at Pitch Aeronautics where we\'re building robotic drones for industrial inspection, maintenance and installation tasks. Prior to Pitch, I led dev teams at a rapidly growing software startup before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer where I led internal operations, business development, product, finance, and HR teams. I have experience leading agile software and DevOps teams, scaling customer support operations, and building automated, multi-level, cloud infrastructure solutions. As an Air Force Program Manager, I led modernization efforts of highly sensitive enterprise IT systems across the U.S. Air Force, while leading 100-member, geographically dispersed teams. I have developed robust communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills having briefed general officers and led complex contract negotiations both for the Government and private industry. When not at work, I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to podcasts, and watching reruns of my favorite 90s sitcom, Seinfeld.
