I am a Legal Director at Shawbrook Bank Limited, working on both legal and governance matters. I was General Counsel at ThinCats prior to its 2025 acquisition by Shawbrook and throughout the subsequent business integration. As well as working on wider group matters, I continue to support the ThinCats business which provides funding to mid-sized SMEs from all sectors across the UK for growth, acquisitions, refinancing and restructuring. I have over 25 years experience as a solicitor in finance related disciplines, leading teams both in-house and in private practice. I am also a chartered governance professional (ACG). I bring significant experience advising senior management on complex legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. I have a proven track record within regulated businesses in legal, governance and risk management. My experience inludes building legal functions, managing external counsel, and aligning legal strategy and operating model with business objectives. I work collaboratively with a calm and measured approach to find appropriate solutions so that legal supports sustainable business growth and value creation as well as appropriately managing legal risk.
