I am passionate about understanding the story that can be told from data, particularly any that relates to place. Today vast quantities of data are collected, understanding it is the key. What does that geospatial data tell us about how people interact in a city, environmental relationships, or even how the location of new infrastructure will affect the immediate area?I’ve worn many hats in my career - executive, developer, researcher, evangelist, strategist and product and project manager. As a result, in my years of global experience I have the ability to navigate the complex challenges of mission critical data and manage multidisciplinary projects. But where my true professional value has come to the fore has been in- Product and project management of complex technical products- Taking a concept through to full scale rollout and having customers flock onboard- Evangelizing information from data and supporting emerging technology- Representation at board level, being able to hold the perspective of the customer and the developer- Technology startups - guiding several into early majority uptake.One of the greatest experiences in my career has been to volunteer as an information specialist for the humanitarian NGO, MapAction. Globally deployable, working with highly skilled colleagues and ensuring emergency aid reaches where it is needed the most.I love making new professional acquaintances.
