I am an experienced and innovative pharmaceutical industry physician leader with a passion for using science to enable patients to benefit from new medicines. I have lead early and late phase global oncology drug development teams and am expert in first time in man dosing through to regulatory approval and launch. I am currently the Chief Medical Officer of Artios Pharma leading the strategy, direction, and execution of the company’s clinical development plans for novel medicines targeting DNA Damage Response. Prior to this post I previously led the clinical development of Verzenio (abemaciclib) from phase 1 through to regulatory approval and the initiation of development for patients with early breast cancer (monarchE). During this appointment I received the Lilly Research Laboratories Presidents Scientific Recognition Award and the Eli Lilly Progress Through Research Award. My other previous appointments include senior clinical development roles in AstraZeneca, leadership of the AstraZeneca Breast Cancer Disease Area Team and Clinical Lecturer in the University of Aberdeen.
