The Capital Project Investment Engineering Leader provides leadership and oversight of the Investment Engineering competency from a business-driven global perspective. Ensures that the business investment teams and activities are aligned with business and corporate requirements to effectively deliver capital projects across the entire business and company portfolio. Accountable for quality investment tools and processes. Serves as an owner agent with external contractors to enable businesses and project teams to target competitive facilities, while maintaining excellence in the delivery of project controls processes. Responsibilities: • Ensure that Investment Engineering processes are strategically and tactically aligned to meet business and corporate targets • Ensure estimate metrics are established and shared with the organization • Ensure industry competitive estimates • Ensures that large project estimates and schedules are appropriately validated and meet quality requirements for project gate process and articulates risk of proceeding without required project deliverables. • Ensure partner contractor processes are robust and provide quality deliverables • Build understanding of the owner’s role as it pertains to Investment Engineering and ensure that our contractor partners understand both their role and ours • Ensures owner standard practices (Execute Cost Control & Cash Flow Forecasting), including systems/tools and interfaces with contractor systems (coordinate w/ IT). Enables contractor understanding of standard practices. • Provide training and development of competency resources. Assess capability of contractor resources to produce the required controls deliverables and assist with training in the use of estimating tools.
