About Ian C.
Ian attended the SciencesPo Paris - Columbia University Dual BA Program with degrees in Politics & Government (minoring in Middle East Area Studies) and Sustainable Development respectively. Having a deep interest in environmental welfare, at Columbia Ian worked as a student consultant for an international non-profit investor, Acumen, helping them create base metrics with which to measure improved climate resilience after their investments into solar-powered appliance businesses in India and East Africa. Outside of the classroom, Ian led a nationwide merger of all of SciencesPo’s student environmental associations, granting all five permanent status and funding from Paris for projects like mobilising the town for Climate Week or making campus events zero-waste. They are currently building a research study investigating links between radicalisation and social media algorithms using machine learning, to be presented to policymakers at the European Union Internet Forum (EUIF) addressing violent extremism.
