Ian joined Bank of Ireland Group Finance team as Financial Controller for Northridge Finance - a financial services company with balance sheet value of £2.3 billion and gross annual income over £100 million. Key tasks of the role include- leadership and management of a Finance team- statutory reporting, including liaison with external auditors, and Group Tax- presentation at board meetings of all financials and related matters - monthly management accounts and business metrics for each of the business streams/ divisions- annual budgeting and monthly balance sheet and profit forecasting - pricing analysis and control, including exception reporting and intermediary profitability analysis- overhead cost analysis and control - procurement management, including vendor and purchase order set up / authorisation- oversight of the HR function including payroll, pension, staff loans, private healthcare, staff expenses- company representative on the Pension Scheme Board of TrusteesIan has also brought to the role his wealth of internal control and risk management experience, and made significant improvements in the control environment. He worked with the Board and other department managers to improve the quality of policy documentation and reports for operational management and regulatory compliance. For three years, he was Company Secretary, until the role was centralised to a dedicated team in Bank of Ireland Group.
