About Ian Wiseman
I’m currently a student at the University of Missouri–Columbia studying Parks, Recreation, Sport & Tourism with a dual emphasis in Sport Management and Recreation Administration, along with a minor in Business. I’m passionate about building a career in the sports industry, especially in sports marketing, event operations, and athletic administration. I enjoy being part of the energy that surrounds sports and the work behind the scenes that makes events, teams, and programs successful. Through my involvement at Mizzou and within Sigma Chi, I’ve developed leadership, organization, and event planning skills that have strengthened my ability to work with teams and manage responsibilities in fast-paced environments. In my role as Athletic Director and Derby Days Coordinator for Sigma Chi, I coordinate intramural teams, organize events, and help lead chapter-wide initiatives, including philanthropy events and partnerships with local businesses. These experiences have helped me grow in leadership, communication, and event management. I’ve also gained hands-on experience in athletics through my time with Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics, where I assisted with athletic training support for student-athletes, and through customer support roles at Target, where I developed strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills. I’m currently seeking opportunities in sports marketing, sports management, event coordination, and athletic operations where I can continue learning, building connections, and contributing to the sports industry.
