About Ian Strand
I am a passionate advocate for Value-Based Care. Over the course of my career—as a facility operator, practice group leader, and payer executive—I’ve had the privilege of working alongside dedicated professionals committed to delivering exceptional care and quality of life for older adults. What I’ve learned is that the challenge isn’t the people; it’s the misaligned financial incentives embedded in our healthcare system.I’ve also seen how quickly outcomes improve when everyone is working toward the same objective. Value-based arrangements create that alignment. When payers, providers, and frontline caregivers share the same goals, the transformation is both measurable and meaningful.I believe that financial incentives shape behavior, and that the highest quality care should also be the most sustainable and financially rewarding path for operators. My mission is to help good actors succeed—by raising awareness, sharing best practices, and ensuring organizations have the tools, data, and partnerships they need to thrive in value-based care.
