ABOUT IAN SMART
I categorise myself as an Sofware Architect / Developer specialising in the implementation of enterprise software applications. I have more than 30 years’ experience in Software Engineering, ranging from embedded mobile phone applications through to large investment banking systems.As a full-stack developer my primary skill sets are Java / Scala and Javascript, but with a background C++ I have also worked on several Microsoft/.Net projects. Having a deep understanding of multi-layered systems, in particular, those based on SOA and micro-services, I feel ideally placed to positively influence the way project teams approach the implementation and testing of a Software applications. I have been involved in the development of many micro-service based backend systems implemented in Java, Scala and Tibco. Recently, at engagements with Metro Bank and Centrica, I was involved in the development of Mobile and intranet based front-end applications in. Angular and Typescript / Javascript.I have been a Consultant for 20 years, independently as enterpriseSmart Ltd. for 13. I was previously employed as an Application Consultant by TIBCO - supporting the BusinessWorks SOA platform and iProcess BPM product sets - and by PTC.
