About Ian Sander
Biotechnology professional with a passion for guiding therapeutic development through both a commercial and scientific lens to maximize impact on patient quality of life. At Ironwood, I lead the company\'s Commercial Insights group, which is responsible for business analytics, market research, competitive intelligence, and new product planning. Prior to joining Ironwood, I worked at IQVIA Consulting Services, where I helped pharmaceutical clients make decisions regarding clinical development strategy, target product profiles, external opportunities, product launch preparation, strategic positioning, and pricing and market access strategy. Previously, I completed a Ph.D. in biochemistry at Notre Dame, where I demonstrated for the first time that there is additional information in gene sequences that helps to determine the folded structure of proteins. During graduate school, I co-founded 3 small companies, based on intellectual property and technologies developed by Notre Dame researchers. Experience: Biotech and pharmaceutical consulting, market research, clinical development strategy, market access, cell and gene therapy product development, technical and commercial due diligence, 3D printing, molecular imaging, bacterial molecular biology, protein expression, purification and structural analysis, studying protein biophysics in the cell and other highly complex environments, developing business models based on biological research
