ABOUT IAN NEWMAN
Why do we age?Our cells are constantly exposed to internal and external stress, yet maintain function through tightly coordinated regulatory networks. Understanding how these systems break down, and how they can be stabilized, sits at the core of my research.I’ve studied small molecules that extend lifespan and confer neuroprotection, using both experimental and computational approaches to uncover the mechanisms that govern aging. Advances in data generation and analysis are now allowing us to move beyond biological complexity and begin identifying the patterns that drive resilience and decline.Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to therapies that enable longer, healthier lives.Beyond the lab, I build and lead teams at the intersection of science, entrepreneurship, and strategy. Through these experiences, I’ve recognized the incredible potential of a high-functioning team. I now seek to complement these team-centric approaches with AI-enabled productivity gains to drive meaningful impact in how therapies are developed and delivered.
