Conducting research on nanoscale chemical/mechanical analysis using advanced chemical imaging with Atomic Force Microscopy and Mass Spectrometry (AFM-MS)-Developing Z-type Schlieren imaging experiments to visualize convective plumes near heated tips, providing experimental validation for COMSOL models and deeper insight into AFM-MS induced convective thermal flows-Creating a convergence analysis of AFM-MS signal resolution relative to probe geometry and tip-sample coupling-Applied findings to system design improvements, contributing to better probe-tip coupling, higher signal resolution, and reduced imaging artifacts in nanoscale chemical/mechanical analysis-Present weekly research progress to advisor and collaborators-Compile semesterly report of investigation progress and results.
