Ubiquity Solar Inc. has been in the business of creating, financing and managing technology and photovoltaic (PV) businesses since 1989. MacLellan Management Ltd. changed its name to Ubiquity Solar Inc. in 2011 to reflect the shift to an operating company. The major businesses that the Company has co-founded, co-financed and co-managed have been Creation Venture Capital (VCC) Corporation, Creation Technologies Inc. and ARISE Technologies Corporation. The Company has also consulted to several solar companies including Solar Design, Advanced Energy Systems, two tier one PV companies and others. The Company has also provided expert witness services for three assignments.Ubiquity Solar has been active in solar energy since February 1996 when Ian MacLellan started consulting to Solar Design and Advanced Energy Systems on the project to install the largest PV system in the world (at that time) of 360kW on the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta which included a 20kW BIPV micro-inverter based system. Ubiquity Solar then founded ARISE Technologies in March 1997. Ian led ARISE as CEO until Feb. 2008 and continued as CTO and Division President until September 2011. He then retired from the Board in November 2011. Since then, he has developed the Ubiquity Solar strategy, technology roadmap, team and funding.

ABOUT IAN MACLELLAN
Ian MacLellan has over 35 years of experience in sales, R&D, manufacturing, plant design/construction/operation, venture capital investing, raising equity/debt/government capital, acquisitions, divestitures, management, executive, CEO and board activities. Ian is a leading Canadian solar energy expert with experience in the entire value chain. He spent 10 years with Motorola, Hewlett Packard and Oracle. Then in 1989, he founded Creation Venture Capital Corp.(CVCC), which made four investments with a focus on funding electronic manufacturers such as Creation Technologies and the acquisition of the controlling interest in Pachena Industries from BC Tel. He then sold his interest in CVCC in 1995 to partners. In 1996, Ian consulted for Solar Design Associates, a solar energy pioneering firm and for a related company, Advanced Energy Systems where he became the Chairman of the Board. In 1997, he co-founded ARISE Technologies Corporation, which became one of Canada’s leading solar energy companies with 2010 revenues of $73M. In September 2011, he retired as CTO and Division President and then from the Board in November. In September 2011, he co-founded Ubiquity Solar which is focused on developing a low cost, high efficiency integrated process to produce the most profitable PV wafers, cells and modules in the industry. This is based on commercializing a new approach to produce semiconductor grade advanced silicon materials for the PV industry with funding from Sustainable Development Technology Canada.
