ABOUT IAN PELLEY

I am a partner of Addleshaw Goddard, specialising in cross-border acquisitions & disposals, joint ventures and projects, principally in the economic infrastructure sector. I have extensive experience with complex high value international agreements, and have led numerous cross-border M&A transactions and projects with values in excess of US$1 billion. I have also had extremely broad international exposure, having run transactions and projects in over 30 countries across 6 continents, including a significant number of transactions in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.I have a particular expertise in the ports and logistics sectors. Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, I was the Group Deputy General Counsel of DP World in Dubai, a leading enabler of global trade (one of the largest marine terminal operators in the world - with over 78 terminals across 6 continents - and also an owner and operator of industrial parks, logistics businesses and economic zones, maritime services and marinas). I worked in Dubai from 2004 until 2018.Having spent over a decade working in-house, I take a business friendly, solution-oriented and practical approach to my work. I take the time to understand the commercial context of the issue at hand and what really matters to the business - and then aim to provide legal and commercial advice as clearly and concisely as possible.
