ABOUT IAN HODGKINSON
I have over 33 years of experience in the housing and building industry, where I apply my expertise and passion to create and renovate properties that improve the quality of life of the residents and the communities. As a project manager at BBC DIYSOS BIG BUILD, I lead a team of professionals and volunteers who work together to deliver stunning and sustainable buildings for deserving charities, within tight deadlines and budgets. I also coordinate with the production crew, the local authorities, the suppliers, and the beneficiaries, ensuring that the projects are safe, compliant, and impactful. In addition, I am the principal CEO and founder of Hodgkinson Builders, a leading company that I established in 1990 as a bricklaying business. Hodgkinson Builders provides domestic and commercial properties across the UK, with a focus on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. I am also committed to supporting and developing the brickwork trade, by launching an in-house division, a training academy, and a social enterprise, that offer opportunities, education, and mentorship to the next generation of bricklayers. Hodgkinson Builders are currently building 200 plus homes which are mainly starter, affordable and social housing.
