With over 24 years of experience in lifting operations, crane logistics, and heavy crane management, I’ve developed deep technical and leadership expertise across some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects — including HS2, Tideway, Crossrail, and nuclear decommissioning at Bradwell.Starting in 2001 as a Slinger/Signaller and working my way up through roles as Crane Operator, Supervisor, Appointed Person, and lifting Project Manager, I’ve built my career from the ground up. This hands-on background gives me a unique, 360-degree understanding of lifting operations — from planning and execution to risk mitigation and team development.Currently serving as the Lifting Manager & Lead Appointed Person for HS2 SCS Area West, I manage all lifting operations across 8 major sites, including shaft works and TBM preparation. My responsibilities include technical planning, reviewing and approving critical lift plans, stakeholder engagement with Network Rail, mentoring site APs, and delivering CAD-based lift studies. I’m trusted to troubleshoot live operation issues, develop safe lifting strategies, and ensure compliance at every level.At Tideway East, I led the lifting operations for two TBM launches across 7 sites and designed bespoke lifting solutions involving strand jacks, gantry cranes, and crawlers up to 300t and mobiles up to 750t. My leadership and strategic planning were recognised with the LEEA 2021 Best Lifting Operation Award for the Greenwich TBM lift.Earlier roles at Costain (Crossrail Paddington), Toureen Group, Vinci Construction, and Emerson Crane Hire gave me a strong foundation in lift planning, logistics, plant coordination, and team development. I’ve standardised RAMS, led cross-site training campaigns, overseen crane erection/dismantling, and collaborated with stakeholders including local councils, BAA, and railway authorities.My approach is hands-on, safety-focused, and team-driven. I combine technical expertise with strong leadership and mentoring, ensuring lifting operations are not just compliant, but efficient, strategic, and forward-thinking.I’m now seeking new challenges where I can contribute at a senior level — leading lifting strategy, driving safety excellence, and developing the next generation of lifting professionals
