ABOUT IAN DEAN

I\'ve 2 decades in the rail industry with another one in the shipping of oil & gas. The last 5 years has been spent getting digitally savy completing a level 7 apprenticeship in AI thanks to Gov.UK and the support of some very key people in Network Rail and became a Chartered Data Scientist with the British Computer Society. In all my roles, I have worked with a system approach to problem solving for a business need. I am principle centred and scientific in my application to work & thrive on challenges both people, engineering and data fed. My current focus for the company is managing Data and AI risk in the asset management fraternity. I am delegated authority to approve the next generation of prediction tools, including AI driven, to enable and quantify Risk Based & Reliability Centred Maintenance. I am involved in Geospatial and Asset Information Specifications as well as managing Data Quality Risk and will be involved in the 2nd generation of Computer Vision track inspection utilizing the latest AI Deep Learning. I\'m also a member of the BSI committee ART/1, involved in International AI standards. My company may be evolving digitally but I\'m there ahead of the game to protect their and Gov.Uk interests.
