About Ian Crawford

The career path less traveled:I’m a hard working, motivated, self starter with a diverse background who’s passionate about using innovation and craftsmanship to find eclectic solutions to complex problems, and I’ve made it here on an interesting road.Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated with art and creating something from very basic elements like colors, notes or words, and also taking existing complex things and breaking them down to their simplest forms. I’ve expressed these interests in a lot of different ways.I studied music all through school (and to this day) but chose to go into construction with a family members plumbing business to dive further into my curiosity of how these grander things work from the ground up.Naturally, I went back to music full-time to express the creativity I always longed for, on the road with my best friends. I loved the creative process but also fell in love with the business aspects of managing a team, working collaboratively with venues and other musicians, creating complicated and rigid schedules, and of course creating and selling a finalized high quality product. The tech world called a few years later when I was home from the road, in the form of a literal phone call from a friend and soon-to-be colleague. I started as a quality analyst with Google maps shortly after, became fascinated with the art of it, and have been learning, pushing and climbing my way through the industry ever since. Combining all these skills developed in my former and current roles have allowed me opportunities to manage innovative software projects from planning through execution as well as finding creative solutions to challenges and gathering insights for lessons learned with colleagues and teams of amazing people. I’ve demonstrated the ability to be an analytical thinker skilled at \"putting out fires\" and navigating challenges by seeing the bigger picture. I’m a quick learner always eager to take on new challenges with the ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple activities at once.
