Ian Carpe joined the Alere Property Group team in 2019. Alere has developed or acquired more than 30 million square feet of industrial product with a market value of over $10 billion. As Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management & Asset Management, he is responsible for maximizing the value of Alere’s portfolio and minimizing risk. His portfolio consists of over 160 best-in-class industrial assets and over 270 tenants throughout California. Ian leverages over 20 years of experience within the real estate development and investment industry. He was instrumental in helping Alere secure 100% occupancy of its 30-million-square-foot portfolio as well as negotiating Alere’s largest leases by revenue since inception. Ian’s extensive resume includes work at top real estate investment firms Invesco and BlackRock. He has managed portfolios of private equity office, industrial, retail, multifamily and self-storage real estate, in addition to mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments. He also worked at the White House, where he co-wrote emergency legislation authorizing $1.5 billion for levee repair, pump station replacement and wetlands restoration during the response to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Ian serves on the Board of Directors for NAIOP’s Inland Empire chapter, serves as a NAIOP Research Foundation Visionary, and is a member of the Chapman University Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) Executive Advisory Council.

He was instrumental in helping Alere secure 100% occupancy of the company’s total 30 million-square-foot portfolio, a record occupancy for the firm since inception. He was also instrumental in negotiating Alere\'s largest leases by revenue since inception. He previously served as Director of Asset Management at Invesco and was responsible for a portfolio of private equity office, industrial, retail, multifamily and self storage real estate in addition to mezzanine debt investments. He served as Invesco\'s thought leader for the self storage sector and helped to build a $1 billion self storage business from scratch. Previously Mr. Carpe was an Asset Manager at BlackRock responsible for managing a private equity office, industrial, multifamily and retail property portfolio in addition to mezz debt & preferred equity investments. He has executed in excess of 58 million SF of office, industrial and retail leases and completed ground-up development and lease-up in the office, industrial, retail, multifamily and self-storage sectors.As a CCIM candidate, he has extensive experience, responsibility and accountability for leasing, new development, renovation and tenant improvement construction management, client reporting and communications, asset valuations, strategic management, marketing, environmental study, analysis and mitigation oversight and hold-sell analysis of commercial real estate. He was BlackRock\'s point-person for multifamily Revenue Management software solutions including YieldStar and was an active member of BlackRock\'s Sustainability Committee. Mr. Carpe also worked at The White House, where he co-wrote emergency legislation authorizing $1.46 billion for levee repair, pump station replacement, and wetlands restoration during the response to Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
