LakewoodAlive is a community-centered nonprofit organization in Lakewood, Ohio. As Lakewood\'s Community Development Corporation (CDC) we seek to foster and sustain vibrant and welcoming neighborhoods in Lakewood through-Administering a Housing Outreach Program-Operating a Small Business Support Program-Hosting large-scale community events-Pursuing community development initiativesFostering and sustaining vibrant neighborhoods is at the heart of all we do at LakewoodAlive. For us, a neighborhood connects the people and places we care about – from our neighbors on our street to the corner businesses we love. We work with residents to sustain Lakewood homes; we promote our thriving business district; and we host large-scale community events that bring Lakewood residents and businesses together. At LakewoodAlive, we work to build new and stronger connections in everything we do.I am proud to work with a dedicated staff, 28-person board, and more than 600 volunteers annually within a annual operating budget. We work to ensure all residents live in healthy and safe housing and bring a vulnerable populations’ needs to light including overseeing a federally funded (CDBG) exterior lead remediation program, a bed bug remediation program, hoarding support, homeownership education, and supporting residents with access to critical resources. We administer a small business development program (formerly part of the national Main Street program) which includes coordinating four merchant associations, helping to access City sign and renovation grants, implementing beautification and public art installations and connecting existing and aspiring entrepreneurs to resources including available space, financing and educational programming. We host festivals and community events to strengthen Lakewood’s quality of life. I oversee our programming, conduct client intake, fundraising, grant writing, and work directly with the government and community partners.
