ABOUT DIPEN PATEL

Completed Biotechnology – Advanced program at Fleming college and internship as laboratory technician at Bureau Veritas. • I hold a master’s degree in Integrated Biotechnology from ARIBAS college in Vidya Nagar, Gujarat, India. Here I completed my dissertation entitled “Isolation and Characterization of Cellulose Decomposing Bacteria Inhabiting Sawdust Compost” where I developed competency in microbiology techniques and DNA applications such as media and agarose gel preparation, plate streaking, micro pipetting, purification of bacterial cultures, and microscopy. • Apart from my studies, I have participated in sports and other co-curricular activities. For example, while in university, I was the captain of my school cricket team for 2 years. As a result, I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills as well as understand the importance of discipline. • As an international student, I have had the opportunity to work with people from diverse groups and cultures. This helps me to adapt to any type of environment. • I am working in Walmart as a Customer Fulfillment Associate and I was nominated three times for Shining Stars. This experience has shown me that I can work well in a fast-paced environment, and can successfully handle customer complaints with integrity. My long term goal is to apply my strong scientific background and competent lab as well as computer skills to establish a career in the research world of biotechnology.
