About Vincent Jones
I build and lead organizations that expand access and opportunity by strengthening the systems that support underserved communities. As CEO of Beyond Impact, I lead a national 501(c)(4) intermediary supporting leaders and organizations to organize, build power, and advance progressive policies that center equity and justice. Our work spans fiscal sponsorship, grantmaking, and convening to strengthen movements and scale impact.I also founded Citizen Jones Consulting (formerly Reinvent Communications), a strategic advisory firm partnering with foundations, nonprofits, and public-sector leaders to design and implement initiatives that strengthen institutions, align resources, and expand opportunity. This work reflects my broader approach to leadership—integrating strategy, partnerships, and systems thinking to drive lasting impact.Over the past three decades, I’ve worked across philanthropy, nonprofits, government, politics, and social entrepreneurship—helping organizations build strategy, align stakeholders, and grow their impact. My approach blends innovation with inclusion, ensuring initiatives are both effective and grounded in the communities they serve.I’m deeply committed to board leadership and governance that advances equity. I currently serve as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Strategic Concepts in Organizing and Political Education (SCOPE) and have served on the boards of: • Freedom for All Americans • Lambda Legal • Los Angeles LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce • African-American Board Leadership Institute (founding board member) • Southern California Blacks in Philanthropy (co-chair) • Red Cross of Southern California • Swarthmore CollegeMy leadership has been recognized by organizations and media including The Advocate (40 Leaders Under 40), the National LGBTQ Task Force (Community Excellence Award), Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families (Emerging Leader in Philanthropy), the City of Los Angeles, and Frontiers Magazine (Hot 25 Leaders to Watch), among others.I believe lasting change happens when people recognize their collective power and institutions are built to support it. Whether leading organizations, advising partners, or engaging audiences, I focus on connecting people, ideas, and resources to drive meaningful and equitable outcomes.
