ABOUT IAIN LYON

I am a creative technology leader with the ability to think strategically and act tactically. I am enthusiastic about building technology that is “like air” and exists invisibly to support the business functions that rely on it. I love removing complexity and believe this approach has a tangible impact on lowering operating costs. I recognise the importance of both individuals and the team in delivering simple robust solutions that actually contribute to the overall success of a company. I promote open, honest and accountable collaboration. I enjoy coaching, developing and nurturing talent within the team. This results in giving those closest to a subject the authority to make decisions. My role as an IT leader allows me to demonstrate my proven ability to develop, implement and maintain IT services. I have the ability to communicate at all levels and across business and technology teams; I build strong partnerships with senior leaders and technology stakeholders. I encourage and promote close relationships with Infosec teams to maintain a strong security posture, as well as with risk and compliance groups to ensure robust business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management plans. I am experienced engaging with both internal and external auditors to ensure compliance to financial services regulations and industry best practice. I can transform and build systems that standardise, remove complexity and reduce operating costs. I encourage a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement and operational focus. I maintain oversight of significant budget and have experience of capital expenditure tracking and tight control of operational expenditure. I enjoy working closely with vendors and resellers to ensure high levels of service, reliable logistics and identifying opportunities for cost saving.
