ABOUT IAIN HALL

Iain is an award winning Chartered Geologist (CGeol, EurGeol) with over 27 years experience working in the professional services industry across all major built environment sectors and disciplines (specifically remediation, waste, ground engineering/geotechnical, environment, planning, contracts, CDM, sustainability, supporting EIA and delivering multi-disciplinary civil engineering projects). He operates at a Technical Director grade within WSP, having previously undertaken a Regional Director role for the Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh offices, he is now Growth Director for the UK Ground and Water business. In his role he is recognised for providing visible leadership, setting strategic direction, and aligning business development to achieve with revenue targets.He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland and has won and worked on major designs and construction projects primarily in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Northern England, with experience working for central and local government, contractors and industry clients. He has a demonstrable track record in the management and coordination of projects and the development of key client relationships. Iain consistently ensure teams deliver complex and multi-discipline projects to programme and with high cost-benefit achieved, whilst maintaining exemplar technical quality standards. Central to his role is the importance of team performance, technical quality, monthly (P/L) and budget reporting, governance, client relationship, robust financial control and partnership management.Iain is involved with the strategic management and direction of the Environment business (for the Ground & Water team, within which he acts as the UK Growth Director) and also supports the wider Geotechnical and Tunnelling capability in the UK. Iain develops and delivers the UK Ground and Water business strategy for growth, ensures the direction and growth of technical teams is maintained and continually improved, develops client relationships, market opportunities and managing finances effectively. He also delivers staff mentoring (as well as acting as a Chartered Geologist Scrutineer), and steers the training, quality, health and safety and environmental requirements of the business.
