Social Care Wales ensures that regulation is used for improvement in health and social care through supporting the workforce to practice to the highest standards. I oversee the work of- an innovative, growing team registering the social care workforce- a diligent fitness to practise team investigating conduct concerns - a highly efficient team co-ordinating the hearings process - a regulation of social care training team which approves qualifying degree and postgraduate programmes in Wales, and- an expert policy team who ensures legal compliance through interpreting our governing legislation and developing our Rules.
