Mr. Kim leads the strategy and team that seeks higher yielding real estate investments in primary and some secondary markets nationwide, through direct or joint venture equity, funds, preferred equity and subordinate mezzanine investments. The team is responsible for acquisition or development, asset management and disposition of a growing equity portfolio, currently consisting of over 70 assets or $11 billion in market value. Prior to heading Real Estate Equity, Hyung was a regional director and originated over $3.9 billion of debt investments for Pacific Life in the US, Canada and UK, ranging from senior fixed or floating term and construction loans, to structured capital market executions with senior/subordinate/pari-passu interests, as well as life insurance company co-lending and bank syndications. Hyung specialized in large loan originations and maintained coverage over major institutional clients including REITs, funds, advisors, and sovereigns.
