I\'ve spent 10 years teaching English as a Second Language and 7 of those years learning the ropes of educational leadership. Throughout my career, here are the many hats I\'ve worn:1. English as a Second Language educator for Malaysian students: guided low-proficiency learners to overcome psychological barrier through unconventional hands-on interactive activities, focussing on fluency first, accuracy later for a better learning progression, exposing high-proficiency learners to the wonders of creative writing, exploring the world and different reading genres.2. English Department Chair: who oversaw the implementation of educational policies, managed the strategic planning and execution of yearly academic plans, raised a strong team of capable English educators in innovating teaching methodologies and assessment-building skills, managed and trained student talents for national competitions, managed and resolved conflict between parents and teachers, participated as a delegate in the Roundtable Discussion with the Deputy Minister of Malaysia.3. Youth Camp Commander and organizer:who saw more than academic potential in her students and provided an outdoor platform for students to explore the meaning of teamwork, survival and kindness in a foreign place.4. Avid jack-of-all-trades volunteer: for Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation and Timberglen Branch Library in Dallas, currently performing a wide variety of tasks including helping highschoolers review their mock resume for college application, setting up the PA system for an event, relaying important information to event vendors, crowd control, building a garden centre, managing fellow volunteers, helping with public enquiry and community programs held in the library.5.(for laughs) A heroic door banger/crasher because a student was stuck in the bathroom after several hours and I had to save the dayI can bring my expertise in team leadership, strategic planning and team management, performance monitoring and quality assurance, coaching, curriculum design and lesson planning, event planning and execution, recruitment, and design thinking.
