ABOUT HUW WILTSHIRE
As someone with twenty six years experience in higher education, twenty years in professional coaching and twelve years as an international High Performance Manager who has worked in Wales, Russia and Canada, I have a passion for, and strong commitment to, strategic leadership. I am a highly dynamic, innovative and resourceful results-orientated professional, who possesses excellent strategic and operational skills My doctorate focused on performance management in elite sport, and I strongly believe that effective performance management must translate into strong leadership that creates dual managed environments through coherent distributed leadership. My experience encompasses chairing boards within a National Governing Body and in Higher Education (HE) and ensuring that groups adhere to national and governmental benchmark standards.My current role as Deputy Dean within the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences at Cardiff Metropolitan University has enabled me to develop a capability in change management and team development, whilst designing best practice operating solutions and quality systems within complex, challenging and demanding political environments. I am also fully conversant in audit, monitoring and evaluative processes having undertaken performance reviews in a variety of HE and sporting contexts.
