ABOUT HURIA OGBAMICHAEL
I am a Leadership Coach and Organizational Development Consultant and a Partner at Masawa, the first European social impact fund to exclusively invest in mental health startups. I joined the United Nation’s peacekeeping effort upon graduation, taking me to assignments in Sudan, Somalia, Timor-Leste, and New York. While at the United Nations, my professional interests shifted from an external focus on conflict resolution and peace building to an internal focus on strategy, policy development and change management. Specifically, I supported the startup as well as drawdown and closure of two large scale peace operations by drafting UN-wide policies and guidelines, adivising senior leaders on the planning process and providing lessons learned and best practices. In 2017, I moved back to Germany and became a leadership coach and organizational development consultant. Over the past six years, I have supported more than 100 leaders and 25 organizations across the public and private sector, ranging from the United Nations to large corporations and early-stage tech startups. In 2021, I joined Masawa as a Partner. My role is to help Masawa nurture its investment by supporting founders navigate the complexities and dilemmas inherent in building companies from the ground up. I work with founders build team cultures in which they and their teams can thrive.
