Biochemist with extensive laboratory and teaching experience. Interested in developing technologies in clinical diagnostics, therapeutics, STEM education, and research. Graduate background in molecular evolution, protein biochemistry, and DNA biochemistry with a focus on the structures and functions of p53 and NF-kappaB in DNA repair and inflammation, respectively. Published peer-reviewed articles investigating protein-DNA interactions critical to gene activation by using techniques in biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology. Thesis work was funded by the UCSD Molecular Biophysics Training Program (San Diego Fellowship), the UCSD Cancer/Oncogenesis Training Grant program (NIH/NCI), Hector Viadiu\'s NSF CAREER Award, and three years of Teaching Assistant fellowships.
