About Susan Hunt Stevens
Susan is an award-winning founder and CEO building technology at the intersection of climate resilience, housing, and human behavior. An expert in designing technology for behavior change, she is co-founder and CEO of Tessi, leveraging AI to make repairing homes after natural disasters faster, safer and smarter. In parallel, Susan maintains a small personal climate investment and advisory platform (Spark Global) that supports her board roles, EIR work, and select early-stage climate companies.Prior to Tessi, Susan was the Founder and CEO WeSpire, an employee experience technology platform focused on educating and activating people in sustainability, inclusion, wellbeing, and social impact initiatives. WeSpire was used by over 100 global companies and hundreds of thousands of employees, received a World Changing Idea award from Fast Company and was selected as Environmental Leader’s Product of the Year. As CEO of WeSpire, Susan was named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year, to the Environmental Leader 100, Meaningful Business 100, and recently received a top Women in Sustainability Leadership Award. In 2023, WeSpire was acquired by Bonterra, an Apax and Vista Equity Partners portfolio company. Prior to WeSpire, she spent 9 years, in two stints, at The New York Times Company, as a consumer marketing and digital executive, leading consumer marketing for New York Times Digital, circulation and marketing for The Boston Globe, and GM of Boston.com. In between those stints, she co-founded and served as President of Abridge, a natural language processing and machine learning focused collaboration startup backed by Venrock and Allen and Company. Susan is a native of the Pacific Northwest, married with two kids and a rescue lab. When not working or parenting, you will find her traveling (especially Spain), visiting farms, and diving in tropical waters.
