About Hunter Gerken
I am the Assistant Department Manager for our Design Technology group where I provide direction in mentorship, career growth, and leadership in Akron and Columbus. I am responsible for driving our Burns McDonnell culture by continuously reminding my team of safety, communicating KSAs, and directing my team for additional challenging opportunities. I assist in narrowing the technical knowledge gap and developing technical excellence while driving a hard work ethic and growing additional technical or soft skills.Outside of this role, I\'m responsible for driving success with our Substation Design projects. I design for various clients and software in 2D/3D. This ranges from 12kV-345kV in various types of substations in regions throughout the US. I have been involved in substation design for years 5 and will continue to push safety, quality, and innovation as the industry continues to grow.
