   As a GCM (Global Commodity Manager), I execute a global sourcing strategy for my respective commodity set. I lead supplier sourcing and selection activities and successfully manage the supplier relationship for a commodity set that has evolved over time to include batteries, interconnect and electro-mechanical components, such as fans, heatsinks, relays, fuses, switches, power supply\'s - as well as castings and mechanical items, Cable assemblies, large cabinet enclosures and other build to print etc. with a global spend in excess of $45 million dollars annually. I lead cost reduction initiatives, monitor supplier performance, improve on time delivery, and build strong supplier relationships. I ensure the commodity set meets our companies technical, pricing, quality, and schedule specifications to ensure supply chain continuity.Responsibility* Work with internal global supply chain, engineering team, outsource team, and quality team to develop a commodity strategy that aligns business requirements with supplier strategies. This includes utilizing our current supplier base and emerging suppliers.* Responsible for AVL (approved vendor list) for commodities when selecting and qualifying suppliers.* Facilitate a competitive sourcing environment leading to improvements on cost, quality, service, delivery, and technology.* Interact with cross functional team to determine current and future supplier and sourcing requirements.* Negotiate bid and proposals, as well as, purchase agreements for favorable terms.* Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, quality, cost, capability improvements, and supplier quality audit needs.* Yearly cost reviews with suppliers to meet to current cost and quality objectives.* Track improvement opportunities for commodity set according to business requirements.* Join process improvement teams involving commodity set to improve current and future business processes
