Telus is Canada’s leading communication technology company with over 1M Canadian smart home customers. As part of an initiative to enable global sales through a turn-key product for CSPs to offer profitable smart home services, delivered a portfolio of smart cameras with edge AI analytics and, in collaboration with AWS, associated cloud platform & mobile app. The cameras were designed to provide market-leading image quality and advanced edge AI functionality in order to drive growth by maximising user value while optimising cost of service.Main Achievements- Designed & developed multiple new smart home camera product lines. Achieved product launch within 2 years resulting in significant annual cost savings & enabling global expansion- Formulated and aligned a 5 year roadmap for superiority in home security services- Managed annual capital expenditure across all concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with agreed budgets- Led negotiations & resulting partnerships with ODMs, contractors & core technology providers including AI SoC, edge AI SDK & image sensor vendors- Owned all aspects of product design & development across the product lifecycle, including research, prototyping, testing, requirements & specifications, project schedule & risk management, business casing, & supply operations- Collaborated closely with AWS to develop the wider platform. This encompassed creating firmware APIs, data storage & AI analysis architecture, device onboarding processes, & support infrastructure to create a scalable solution- Managed 50 engineers with agile methodologies leveraging ongoing beta testing with over 5k users nationally.
