I am currently leading the Health & Wellness Policy Initiative as a Health & Wellness Policy Intern at Jackson Park Golf Association (JPGA), spearheading the organization’s first-ever comprehensive health program focused on promoting wellness among youth and golf caddies. This groundbreaking initiative emphasizes CPR awareness, mental health support, physical well-being, and community engagement, aiming to foster a healthier environment within the golf community.In this leadership role, I coordinate a team of interns in conducting extensive research, gathering data, and synthesizing findings to create a practical, evidence-based health policy tailored to meet the unique needs of JPGA’s stakeholders. I serve as a key liaison between JPGA leadership, fellow interns, and external experts, ensuring effective communication and collaborative progress.Leveraging my technical expertise in Java, SQL, and data design, I am actively involved in developing a digital platform to make the health policy widely accessible and scalable. This integration of technology is critical to the initiative’s long-term success and its potential for broader community impact.This internship has provided me with invaluable experience in public health policy development, project management, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It allows me to apply my academic knowledge in Health Care Informatics to real-world challenges, enhancing my skills in data-driven decision-making and health innovation.Leading this initiative reinforces my commitment to advancing health equity and innovation through technology and community-focused solutions. It is rewarding to contribute to a project with potential for meaningful, lasting impact on community health and wellness.
