As a Care Experienced Assessor, my role involves using my lived experience to contribute to the assessment process for aspiring social workers during the assessment center stage. I assist in interviews by evaluating candidates’ suitability, ensuring they demonstrate empathy, understanding, and the skills needed to work effectively with care-experienced individuals. My insights help identify candidates who align with the values and practices necessary for supporting those in care. This role allows me to combine my personal perspective with structured assessment criteria to support the recruitment of compassionate and capable social workers.
