About Hui Yan
Dr. Yan is the inventor of the BodyEnergy treadmill and the founder of BodyEnergy Technology. Dr. Yan has invented many new concept products in his career. In 2015, David Goldman\'s treadmill tragedy (reported by CNN) drew my attention to serious inevitable safety issues of treadmills. Treadmill accidents kill multiple people, send people to emergency rooms each year, and account for 40% of all indoor fitness injuries in the United States. For the last 7 years, I challenged the 50-year unsolved problem, exhausted all my savings and more than hours of time to this project, not only solved the safety problem of the treadmill, but also halved the running exercise time, significantly reducing the high impact on the knees from the powerful motor, allowing your indoor running workout is completely green. BodyEnergy not only takes running to the next level, but it\'s the only treadmill that can be raced online or offline. Electric treadmills have inherent problems. Previous human-powered treadmills relied on gravity to drive the tread belt (slide down using an incline, including Woodway treadmills). Gravity-based human-powered treadmills cannot be fully controlled by the user, so their use is very limited. For the past few decades, people have been trying to invent hand-powered manual treadmills and have failed. Replacing a 2-5 hp electric motor with human power (~0.2 hp) is a huge challenge. BodyEnergy patented technology solves this ultimate challenge, making human-powered treadmills suitable for everyone\'s running workout needs. BodyEnergy accelerate speed can be 10 times faster than a motorized treadmill, and it stops when you stop. At a similar cost to a regular electric treadmill, BodyEnergy can save people running in half the time, save electricity, and avoid high-impact-related sports injuries and haunting safety concerns.BodeEnergy can replace most of electric treadmills and some elliptical machines. Combined, treadmills and ellipticals have 87 million users and account for 44% of total fitness equipment sales in U.S.BodyEnergy won \"Time Best Invention of 2021\" and the Runner’s World Editors’ Choice Award for ‘best running tech product\' at 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
