ABOUT HUGH SAMSON

Managing Director and Co-Head, Global Metals & Mining Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets. Focused on provision of financial advisory and capital raising services to clients within the Metals & Mining sector. Joined RBC Capital Markets as an associate in the Mining & Metals group in February 2014, subsequent to completion of an MBA at the Sauder School of Business at UBC. Prior to joining RBC, worked as a mineral exploration geologist for 7 years, gaining extensive experience in evaluation of mineral projects and leadership of multi-disciplinary exploration teams operating in remote locations throughout North America and Mexico. Focused on evaluation, exploration and development of base metal and precious metal deposits. In 2005, received a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Dalhousie University, specializing in the field of Earth Sciences. In 2010, joined the Association of Professional Geologist and Engineers of British Columbia (APEGBC) as a professional geologist (P.Geo). Technical Skills: Capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, and financial advisory services with a resource industry focus, mine and mineral resource project evaluation. Extensive transaction experience in the base metals and precious metals sectors.
