ABOUT ROBERT HUGH MCCURREN
I am an Environmental Engineering senior at Colorado State University and co-founder of FlocBot, an automated chemical optimization system for drinking water treatment. Our work builds on RoboJar, a technology developed by Clear Corporation and focuses on improving chemical dosing decisions, reducing waste, and enhancing treatment performance for utilities. I work alongside an interdisciplinary team across engineering, computer science, and business, as well as advisors and industry partners who have been critical to developing and advancing this project. Together, our work has been recognized with 1st Place and People’s Choice at the I4E Startup Showcase, 1st Place at I4E Startup Spotlight, and 1st Place at CSU E-Days in Mechanical Engineering. I also have experience working with the USDA on civil and environmental initiatives.Beyond this, I serve as Service Projects Chair for CSU Rotaract and contribute to international water distribution efforts with Engineers Without Borders in El Salvador. I am passionate about applying engineering to create practical, impactful solutions that address real-world challenges.
