ABOUT HUGH LUMBY
Hugh is a politician, judge, legal consultant and businessman. He provides consultancy services at BDB Pitmans LLP, based in the Southampton office and leading on regeneration. He has long time interest in regeneration, having been co-chairman of the European Urban Regeneration Council at the Urban Land Institute and lectured on development and regeneration at the University of the Sorbonne. In addition, he provides legal advice on real estate matters at Jurit LLP. He is an elected member of Hampshire County Council, representing the Meon Valley division. He has a particular interest in the local economy across Hampshire and countryside matters and is also chairman of the River Hamble Harbour Authority Management Committee. He is a councillor on Winchester City Council, being twice elected to represent the Upper Meon Valley ward. He was the head of the global real estate practice at Ashurst LLP until August 2019, based in London. He retired from Ashurst LLP in February 2020 after around thirty years\' service. Hugh was appointed a fee paid judge in the Employment Tribunal, South West Region, commencing on 1st October 2021. Formerly a visiting Professor at the University of Law, he is also a judge for the International Property Awards.
