ABOUT HUDSON WATTS

I am a Computer Engineering student at the University of Guelph with a strong background in embedded systems, PCB design, and robotics. As Electrical Lead for the University of Guelph Robotics Team, I specialize in schematic design, circuit analysis, and hands-on implementation, including redesigning drive-board chips and electrical components for our Mars Rover. Robotics & Engineering Projects: I’ve led initiatives to redesign the electrical architecture of the UGRT Mars Rover, improving system communication and reliability. My work spans circuit design, datasheet analysis, PCB development (KiCAD, CubeIDE), and system-level testing. Technical Experience: At General Dynamics, I contributed to various stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, planning, implementation, testing, and issue resolution. My work involved developing and debugging applications in C/C++ across Windows Embedded and Linux platforms, analyzing communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SAE J1939), and supporting system validation. This experience strengthened my ability to work in agile, safety-critical environments while collaborating on real-time vehicle and embedded systems.
