WORK HISTORY
Coleopteran Insect Resistance Trait Project Portfolio Leader @Dow Agrosciences
Management of corn rootworm has been a significant challenge due to resistance development against all the management tools. Corn rootworm resistance trait market needs novel insecticidal genes with a novel mode of action to sustain the duribility of current Cry34/35 and Cry3-based Bt corn products. Huarong Li Leads a team across multi-functions at Dow AgroSciences to develop corn rootworm resistance traits for sustainable control of this insect pest complex. These efforts include corn rootworm resistance RNAi, Bt/non-Bt insect resistance gene discovery, characterization, protein engineering, transgenic corn event generation and western corn rootworm control efficacy evaluation.
