ABOUT HAROON MOHAMMAD

A PhD-trained scientist with nearly a decade of experience in medical editing and writing, I help clients communicate their scientific discovery clearly, correctly, and concisely to reach their target audience! As a medical writer, I have authored 20+ scientific publications, co-authored 30+ publications, delivered 50+ oral and poster presentations, and secured $74K+ in research fellowships. As a scientist with 8+ years in pre-clinical drug discovery, I have evaluated 2 medical devices, screened 250+ new chemical entities (NCEs) to identify promising lead compounds to treat drug-resistant bacterial and fungal infections, and designed animal studies to evaluate NCEs for safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics. As a lab manager, I trained 20+ researchers to safely conduct antimicrobial drug discovery research in compliance with institutional and federal regulations and mentored 13 students/visiting scholars to write, edit, and submit scientific publications.As an excellent relationship builder with strong project management and client-facing skills, I have successfully managed 20+ cross-functional collaborations that secured $336K in grant funding.As a subject matter expert (SME) in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, I served as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and a peer reviewer for several journals including Scientific Reports, BMC Microbiology, BMC Veterinary Research, and European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.
