GHI\'s mission is to save lives by empowering at-risk communities worldwide to build resilience ahead of disasters and climate impacts. I manage projects and contribute technically to work with communities to reduce their risks from earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis, and climate change effects. Currently managing a 4-year program to examine how climate change is affecting local geologic risks, identifying how the resulting impacts to people and society are/will change, and identifying potential approaches to reducing the risks. The program will communicate these changes with disaster risk managers and others likely to be affected from amplified disaster impacts. We will also apply our learning through conducting small risk reduction projects in three at-risk communities.Other projects I have managed include: a youth-led disaster risk reduction program in northern Haiti, a technical exchange on reducing water supply system vulnerabilities in India, school safety efforts in Nepal, landslide assessments in southern India, training and connecting local leaders with climate change experts and forecasts in southern India, and building loss estimation and action in Bhutan. Multi-year projects that I have contributed to technically include developing earthquake scenarios in westernmost Nepal and a project to improve scenario development for disaster risk reduction efforts.I am always interested to grow in new areas and learn how to better support at-risk communities in their efforts to be less vulnerable to geologic disasters and climate change.

GeoHazards International works to end preventable death and suffering from natural disasters. Our projects address risk from earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides and floods.
