I didn’t start in bioinformatics because I loved coding.I started because biology alone wasn’t enough to answer my questions.Staring at genomic datasets during grad, I realized: modern biology isn\'t just written in cells - it\'s written in code. But most courses either assumed I already knew programming or taught biology too superficially.So I taught myself. Python. Linux. NGS workflows.
