About Hsin Yu Ho

As an Environmental Engineering student at the University of Illinois with a passion for sustainable solutions, I am driven by the opportunity to create impactful, real-world change. My academic background, coupled with hands-on experience in designing water treatment systems, bridge construction, and infrastructure projects, has equipped me with a strong foundation in engineering principles, CAD design, and problem-solving.I have had the privilege of working on diverse projects, from collaborating with local communities in Puerto Rico to enhance disaster resilience, to assisting in the development of a reinforced concrete beam bridge in Malawi. Through these experiences, I have strengthened my ability to work within teams, lead projects, and communicate complex ideas to stakeholders.In addition to my technical skills, I have gained valuable leadership experience as a Residence Hall Leader, supporting the well-being of students and organizing meaningful events. My internships and volunteer work have further enhanced my ability to support engineering solutions, teach, and engage with various communities.

1. Design Manager & Travel Member

   Engineers In Action Bridge Program At Illinois

   Oct 2024 — Present · Qonapati Challviri, BO

   Collaborated with BridgeCorps and EIA engineers to design a 6-meter footbridge over the Río Challviri River, providing an alternative crossing solution- The project will directly benefit 165 residents and indirectly impact 180 habitants in the Qonapati Challviri community, where seasonal flooding leaves the river uncrossable for an average of 150 days per year, forcing residents to risk their safety on foot- Assisted in preparations for a six-week construction phase scheduled for this summer, working alongside students from Virginia Tech and Villanova University to bring the project to life on-site.
