ABOUT HRRIDAYSH DESHPANDE

I have been in the field of education for over 27 years. I am the Vice Chancellor of Ajeenkya DY Patil University. I am associated with the India Design Council as consultant advisor. IDC is a national strategic body of Government of India established under the aegis of DIPP. Under the aegis of IDC I am spearheading India Design Mark program in cooperation with Good Design Award, Japan. I have been the jury member at Good Design Awards, Japan for 2013, 14,15 and 17 editions. I have been the jury member for world’s largest student design competition – Taiwan International Student Design Competition in 2015 and 2017. I authored India Design Reports published in 2009, 2011 and 2014. I have been curating the CII NID Design Summit since 2010. In the year 2011, I helped CII initiate the CII Design Excellence Awards and the CII Industrial Innovation Awards in 2014. Recently I authored a report on “Future of Design Education in India” published by the British Council in India. Over the years I have acquired proficiency in business innovation strategy and design driven Innovation. My focus is on structured innovation practices for organizational innovation via appropriate tools, methods and processes. Through my work, I have assisted leading companies across a range of industries. I edited a compilation of 4 volumes of Indian Innovation Case Studies for Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. I have been an education entrepreneur. I have been responsible for establishment, overall strategy, implementation and daily issues of running educational institution of wide variety such as University, Schools, Engineering Colleges, Management Institutes and institutes offering education in niche areas.
