I’m a data scientist who actually enjoys the messy intersection of math, risk, and real-world decision-making. I don\'t just chase high accuracy scores on clean datasets; I build systems that help organizations navigate uncertainty.Most of my work sits in healthcare and finance, where the data is messy, the stakes are high, and getting it slightly wrong can be expensive. At Elevance Health, I focus on spotting early cost and utilization signals across claims and pharmacy data. A lot of that work is about understanding how things change over time, what normal really looks like, and when a shift is worth paying attention to. The end goal is always the same: build systems leaders can trust, not just models that look good in a notebook.Before that, I was part of Indiana University’s Building a Mind Lab, working on mental-health prediction using multimodal data. We were combining physiological signals, survey responses, and behavioral patterns, which meant spending a lot of time on signal quality, feature dynamics, and model stability. It was very hands-on, from designing secure ML pipelines to validating models and shipping them into real research workflows.Earlier in my career, I worked on fraud, anomaly detection, and financial risk problems. That’s where I picked up a strong quantitative mindset. Instead of hard rules or thresholds, the focus was on expected behavior, variance, and how to measure deviation in a way that holds up when the data shifts.Across roles, I usually find myself at the intersection of quantitative modeling, risk and anomaly detection, forecasting and early-signal discovery, and applied AI systems that run in production.I’m most comfortable in spaces where the answers aren’t obvious, and assumptions actually matter. If the work involves making decisions under uncertainty and building AI that people genuinely rely on, that’s usually where I do my best work.
