About Hrishikesh H L
I\'m a Mechanical Engineering student at Vellore Institute of Technology with a soft spot for manufacturing and composite materials. Right now, I’m deep into two projects: building a sustainable carbon–carbon (C–C) composite at IIT Madras and designing a bio-inspired lattice structure that takes lessons from nature to make things a lot tougher (and cooler).On the technical side, I work with composite behavior prediction, AI-based structural analysis, and advanced simulations using Python, and ANSYS. Basically, I like making materials and machines smarter, lighter, and stronger—sometimes all at once.When I’m not running simulations, I’m running my blog, Desi Downshift, where I break down the engineering behind Formula 1 and materials tech—with just the right mix of nerdy detail and racing drama.I’m always up for collaborating with people in automobiles, motorsports, and advanced manufacturing—whether it’s to learn & solve engineering challenges or just to talk composites and racecars over a cup of chai.
